Ali Pur Chattha (Akalgarh)

A view of historical Gate of Ali Pur Chattha (Akalgarh) named as Paki Deorhi in district Gujranwala. Ali Pur Chattha was the residence of a family of Khattris of the Chopra clan, to which belonged the Diwan Sawan Mal and his son Mulraj, the governors of Multan in the later days of Sikh rule. According to some reference the old name of Ali Pur Chattha was Akalgarh and probably was named such by Sikha, after capturing it from Chatha chiefs in mid 1760s.
