Mariyam Zamani Masjid Lahore

A view of Mariyam Zamani Masjid(Begham Shahi Masjid) situated inside Masti gate in Walled City Of Lahore. This splendid and historical Masjid built by Mughal Emperor Jahangir in honor of his mother Mariyam Zamani who was also known as Mahrani Jodha Bai in 1023 Hijri. During Sikh era this Masjid used as Magazine powder Factory and famous as "Barood Khany wali Masjid". In 1850 Mariyam Zamani Masjid handed over to the Muslim by British Govt. The current condition of this Masjid is very pitiable. The fresco art Inside Masjid is mind blowing but due to not proper care this unique art is going to wasting day by day. The walled city of Lahore Authority should take action immediately for renovation of this splendid heritage.
